Managing natural assets for a prosperous SEQ

South East Queensland is a diverse region, with world famous beaches, heritage listed national parks, some of the most fertile farmland in the world and more biodiversity than Kakadu.

We are South East Queenslanders and we love it. We understand that our outstanding natural assetsare important to support our economy and way of life.

It’s important that we balance the use and maintenance of our natural assets to make sure that the region remains a special place to live, work and play for years to come.

Planning for our future is one way that we can do this and that’s where the South East Queensland Natural Resource Management (SEQ NRM) Plan comes in.

The SEQ NRM Plan contributes towards key goals in the Queensland Plan as part of the community’s 30 year vision. It guides planning and investment to ensure Queensland is a world leader in balancing environmental management with economic development.

During 2014, it was updated to better prepare us for the future and refocuses action on managing the natural assets needed to support SEQ’s economy and community wellbeing.
